No. But you should have some musical foundation — for example, playing an instrument, writing musical ideas, reading a little music, or having some experience working in a DAW.
No. You do not need to arrive as an experienced engraver. Scoring Sprint™ includes guidance for preparing readable score and parts for the recording session.
No. The workflow is demonstrated in my tools, but you can use your own setup as long as you can keep up with the weekly deliverables and prepare the required materials for the session.
Yes, as part of final delivery. This is not a standalone mixing course, but you will move through the editing and mixing workflow needed to shape your final shareable master.
One original piece for strings, approximately 2 to 2:30 minutes long, completed, prepared for real players, recorded by a live quartet, and delivered as a final shareable recording.
If you show up, do the work, and submit your milestones, you’ll receive extra completion support at no additional cost until your piece reaches the workshop standard for the recording session.
That is not the primary purpose of this workshop. Scoring Sprint™ is designed for people who want to create and complete a real piece of music, even if they are not pursuing music professionally. That said, finishing a strong piece and adding it to your portfolio can absolutely support your growth as a composer.
Your piece will be performed and recorded by a live string quartet, and you’ll leave with a final recording you can keep and share. You’ll also become part of a growing community of composers continuing to write, finish, and share new work.
